Free File Converter sets no cookies of its own. The advertising on the site is supplied by Adsterra, which may set cookies or use similar storage of its own. This page separates the two, because they are genuinely different things and it is worth being precise about which is which.
What this site stores
Almost nothing. It sets no cookies, keeps no identifier for you between visits, and there is no account to sign into. The one exception is your answer to the advertising question, kept in local storage so that it is not asked again — one word, and nothing that could distinguish you. The control in the footer of every page changes it.
Your browser will cache the site's pages, scripts, and the engine files some tools download, in the same way it caches any website. That is your browser's own cache, not storage this site controls, and it holds no information about you or your files.
What the advertising stores
The site carries ads from Adsterra. Adsterra and its demand partners may set cookies or use similar storage to choose which ads to show, to cap how often you see the same one, and to measure whether an ad was seen. This is standard advertising behaviour and it is their storage, governed by their policies rather than by this page.
Each ad is loaded inside a sandboxed frame, so whatever it stores is stored under the advertiser's own origin and not under this site's. That is also why nothing the advertising does can reach what a converter is holding.
Advertising preferences can be set at the browser level, and European visitors can use the industry opt-out below, which applies across every participating site rather than only this one.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics runs on this site and is deliberately cookieless: it sets nothing, reads nothing back, and stores no identifier, which is why it is not behind the advertising choice. It counts page views and loading times and cannot recognise a returning visitor. Blocking it changes nothing about whether the converters work.
Blocking cookies
Every conversion tool on this site works with all cookies blocked and with an ad blocker running, because the tools do not depend on either. Nothing is gated, nothing is counted against you, and nothing asks you to disable your blocker.
Your files are never stored in your browser
Converted files are held in memory while you work and released when you reset the tool or leave the page. They are never written to cookies, local storage, or IndexedDB, and never placed in a URL.
